B&B S.Marco | Realvenice is one of the real few left bb in Venice (meaning the family residents-owners living in the b&b with maximum 3 guestrooms). It is Marco family home since 1975 where he grew up with parents and brothers (who now live in Ravello, Rome and Milano). In 2002 since parents moved in order to not sell the home Marco left a career to go back to Venice and converted part of the family home into guestrooms to be able to live back to his childhood fabled city; Alice joined in 2007 and Nina arrived in 2011..
Up until 2002 Marco was marketing director at leader advertising and internet company in Milano; at the time of the bubble burst he realized the need to change in life so he decided to go back to where he feelt to belong and where he spent a wonderful childhood-adolescence. When he started the b&b it was one of the first in Venice and it was a fantastic period of a new path of downsizing. Since then, Venice has become more and more a non regulated mass touristic destination. Many “investors” use the city to speculate with only profit in mind even without living in, a long history and tradition risk to become pre-made products. The side effect, as in many historical cities in Europe, to contribute to the desertification of life. But Venice with his historical and artistic heritage is still there, with his fabled beauty and magic atmospheres. So we invite you to enjoy the still real and genuine side of the floating city that reflects itself on his water. We can help with our local tips, to avoid the daytrippers groups flows that crush themselves in the same stereotyped places, without understanding and see what is behind the postcard.
